Carol Paula (Kane) Glazer passed away peacefully September 1, 2017 in Santa Fe, where she had been living since January 2014. Born on November 8, 1929 in Lakewood, Ohio, Carol married her husband, Harry Glazer, in 1956 in Munich, Germany, his first diplomatic post, and served with him in various other countries, including Switzerland and Malta. While stationed in Munich, Carol and Harry were temporarily posted to Vienna, where they helped process the influx of refugees fleeing Hungary following the Soviet invasion in 1956. While Harry was stationed in Viêt Nam in the early 1970s, Carol took on all family responsibilities while remaining stateside. In the later 1970s and the 1980s, Carol managed a cancer information hotline under contract with the National Cancer Institute. Upon their respective retirements, Carol and Harry traveled extensively. Carol is pre-deceased by her husband of 57 years and her brother, Eugene Kane. She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Howard Spiegelman), son David (Helen Choi), and granddaughters Hannah and Rebecca. She will be deeply missed. The family wishes to express gratitude for the care Carol received in the last days of her life from the Ambercare Hospice team, including Ashley, Hollis, and Lauren and the staff at BeeHive Homes, including Karla, Kaylie, Alina, Bea, Freddy, Kelly, Sirce, Sonia, and Yolanda. Arrangements in New Mexico made by Berardinelli Family Funeral Services. Final resting place will be King David Memorial Gardens in Virginia. A private memorial will be held in the future in Virginia.
