David A. Lucero (50) of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Sunday, September 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved parents, Albert P. and Rebecca and bothers, Steve A. and Ron A. Lucero. David was a proud graduate of SFHS, NMI, and NMSU with a Master of Business Administration. After an eight year venture in the restaurant business with his brother Ron, he had a successful 17 year career in NM State Government where he rose to be Deputy Director of the Legislative Finance Committee. He is remembered for his extraordinary knowledge of everything from State Government to finance and was revered for his astute judgement, integrity, kindness, and respect for others. His loves included family, friends, work, fishing, cooking, bartending, popular culture, travel, & the Arts. He will be missed dearly by the many lives he touched. Memorial services on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, 1399 Luisa Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian services on Saturday 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev Larry R. Brito officiating with a reception immediately after at the St Anne's Parish Hall. Burial on Monday, October 1st at 11:00 AM at the Rosario Cemetery. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the UNM Hospital and UNM Cancer Center, and especially to Carmen, Theresa, and Barbara at Legacy Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to support the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center's Research Fund.
