On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at age 51, David J. “DJ” Mascareñas, husband, father, son, and brother, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, daughters and grand-daughters. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 12 years (NoraJean Salazar), mother/father in law (Virginia & Henry Salazar), daughters (Arianna & Taylor Mascareñas), daughter-in-law (Devon Vigil), grand-daughters (Lilyanna Carrillo & Olivia Mascareñas), mother (Flora Mascareñas), sister and brother-in-law (Amy & Tom Boydston), brother (Joseph Mascareñas), and brother (Dion Casias). David will also be forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. David is preceded in death by his father Joe Mascareñas, brother Tommy Mascareñas and cousin Vincent B. Martinez.
David loved the outdoors and staying busy. David enjoyed many things in life such as camping, riding his dirt bikes, playing in the snow while driving “The Toyota”, landscaping his property, playing the drums (self-taught), watching live sports, going to concerts, taking the pups (Rocko & Lulu) for walks, and fishing just to name a few. David was always a hardworking man. David began working at the age of 12 and ended his career with 16 years for the City of Santa Fe, Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC). David was proud to serve his community and enjoyed meeting new people, some of whom he built lifelong relationships with. David will truly be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will begin with a rosary on September 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. September 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. a mass, interment and luncheon will be held. All services will be held at Saint Anne Parish and Hall, 511 Alicia St. and Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
