April 21, 1927 ~ July 25, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

On July 25th, Eddie Catanach died at his home in La Cieneguilla. He was born to Eddie and Fidelia Catanach on April 21, 1927 and grew up on Agua Fria St. near Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was married to Ymelda Salazar Catanach for over 69 years raising 14 children and sharing his Catholic faith with his family and friends. Eddie is survived by his sons: Edwin (Lori Garcia), Edmund (Melissa Salazar Catanach), Edward, Edgar (Kari Rost Catanach), Eduardo (Kathy Griego), Edloy and Edrick (Jenny) and his daughters: Yvonne (Ubaldo) Garcia, Yvette (Gene) Varela, Yolette (Albert Olivas), Yolanda (Tom Sanchez), Ymelda (Ed) Jardine, Yodel (David Gonzales) and Ynez (David Werth). He is survived by his sisters and brothers: Flora Dimas, Agnes Cruz Sullens, Georgia (Rudy) Rodriguez, Betty Lovato, Patsy (Dave) Lucero, Ila, Michael and Clarence (Linda). Eddie’s life was brightened by his 35 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Eddie is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law: Connie Valdez, Bernie (Doris) Salazar, Mena (Louie Gomez) Morelos, Angie White and Robert (Susan) Salazar.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents, brothers Albert and Joseph, brothers and sisters-in-law: Presley Dimas, Lee Lovato, Frankie and Barbara Salazar, Fidel Cruz, Harold Sullens, Vianes Valdez, Horace Manzanares and Darryl White.
Eddie was a devout Catholic who was a team member of several Cursillos and Marriage Enrichments; participated in Perpetual Adoration and First Friday Adoration; served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral Basilica and helped initiate this ministry at St. Vincent Hospital; and was a member of the Seminary Auxiliary.
Eddie was a skilled plasterer, owned and maintained many apartments in Santa Fe and retired from the Los Alamos National Labs after 34 years.

Services will be held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 417 Agua Fria St., Santa Fe with viewing and Rosary on Wednesday, August 1st at 6:30 pm and the funeral services on Thursday, August 2nd at 11:00 am.
