Else Jacobs Rodriguez

Else Jacobs Rodriguez passed away peacefully Friday, June 16, 2017 in the presence of her family, friends and caregivers. Else left Germany to make her home in many places including Peru and Paraguay where the Air Force assigned her late husband, Lieutenant Colonel Leo Rodriguez. The achievement of her lifetime was making a home for her family wherever she went. The family settled back in Santa Fe in 1973 whereupon Else began her involvement with Cristo Rey Church where she made many steadfast friends. She knit hundreds of hats for the children at the Villa Therese Catholic Clinic. She really hit her stride at the Wellness Center at Christus St. Vincent Regional Hospital making friends for life.

Else is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Kosir; her two sons, Leo and Dennis; and her eight grandchildren who all know her as “Oma”: Katia Kosir, Hannah Casey, Elias Rodriguez, Maia Rodriguez, Afton Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez, Christian Rodriguez and Kaitlin Rodriguez.

The family recognizes the vigilance and loving effort of the caregivers who tended to our mother during her last few months, helping her make the difficult transition into the care she needed in the home she created.

The rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at Cristo Rey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
