Emma Chavez

Emma Chavez, 103, the matriarch of our family, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on March 12, 2023.
 

Emma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband Genovevo Chavez, daughters Dolores Bomer, Cecilia Bernal and son Gene Patrick Chavez.
 

Emma is survived by her children and grandchildren; daughter Emily Diane Gonzales, son Robert Bernal (Dorothy Bernal), close family member Tim L. Gonzales, grandchildren Jerry Grimley (Cheryl Grimley), Robert Bomer (Unmesha Bomer), Edward Bernal, Doris Pecos (deceased spouse Joe Pecos), Joseph Bernal (Virginia Bernal), Josephine Chavez (Phillip Chavez), Gwenda Ortega, Robert Bernal (Melody Bernal), Tammy Gonzales (Jacob Romero), Sharon Gonzales, Janelle Gonzales- Aguirre (Larry Aguirre), and Gene Gonzales (Doreen Gonzales). Emma is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
 

Emma will be remembered as a very devoted catholic who had the utmost faith up to her passing. We, her family, will live on cherishing the love, grace, and faith that she always shared with us. With her great humor and selflessness, she brought much laughter and joy to all. Emma Chavez will never be forgotten she will remain in our hearts forever and be greatly missed.

A public viewing will be held at Berardinelli's on March 23, 2023, at 5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A mass will be held on March 24, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Santa Fe. Burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery.

The family would like to invite you to share a meal following the burial at the Eagles.
