Esther R. Vigil, 94. With a broken heart from the loss of her granddaughter Stefanie Salazar, we sadly announce the passing of our Mama on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born on July 25, 1924, to Cresenciano and Guadalupita Roybal. Esther was a resident of El Rancho. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Teofilo Vigil; her six siblings and their spouses- Medardo Roybal (Ursinia), Teresita Tafoya (Juan), Eberto Roybal (Elvira), Rosella Ortiz (Ramon), Tony Roybal (Frances), and Sinfie Ortiz (Toby). Also preceded in death by her in-laws and spouses-Antonio, Rudy, Manuel, Claudio, Herminio Vigil, and Lucy Serna.
Surviving her are her three daughters and their children, Sophie Vigil (Walter), Larry Espinoza (Deirdre), Shenisha and Honey Espinoza, Eva Espinoza; Roseanna Vigil (Phillip), Javier Vigil (Jami), Sebastian and Dominic Vigil, Roberto Vigil (Anna), Marianna Vigil; Linda Salazar (Edward Valencia), Alejandro Martinez, Mark Jr., Patrick, and Isabelle Padilla.
Services will be held at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, as follows: 9:30 a.m. Public Viewing; 10:00 a.m. Rosary; 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial; 1:30 p.m. Interment National Cemetery.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Larry and Deirdre Espinoza, Eva Espinoza and John Riddlle, and Roberto and Anna Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers are Javier and Jami Vigil and her great-grandchildren.
