He moved to Santa Fe in the early 1970s and married a second time. He opened his second restaurant, “The Periscope”, with his second wife which became one of the more popular restaurants in Santa Fe at the time. Joe retired in the 1980s and never lost his passion for food, wine and travel. Joe travelled the world and loved telling of his experiences in the exotic places he visited. Joe also loved to go to the local bar, Del Charro, to watch football and other sporting events. Joe is succeeded by his two sons, Chris and Jeff, his daughter-in-law Bree, his granddaughters Ellie and Qwin, both of his ex wives, Yvonne and Shirley, his sister Lucia, his brother Lou and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his father Luigi, his mother Teresa and his brother Fred. The family would like to thank everyone who has sent or expressed their well wishes and would especially like to thank Dr Rosen and the staff on the PCU at Christus/St Vincent hospital for the care of Joe in those difficult last days. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to a local charity of your choice in Joe’s name. At this time the family is not planning any memorial service but plans to put together a celebration of Joe’s life in the spring of 2019.
