Juanita Chavez

Juanita "Juana" Chavez, 76 of Santa Fe, left this world suddenly on Monday October 31, 2022.

She worked for the State of New Mexico for the past 15 years and became a GSD Supervisor there. Throughout her life she was an outdoor person who loved camping and was an avid fisherwoman. When not at work she was always busy with one hobby or another, taking on a project, or trying her luck at one of the local casinos that she enjoyed immensely. She also loved her 3 dogs Max, Boy-Boy & Charlie and her cat Angel. It was not uncommon to hear of her caring for a stray or trying to nurse a sick animal back to good health.

She was preceded in death by her mother Domingita Chavez, her brother Robert "David" Chavez, her longtime partner of 33 years Martha "Marty" Gerber & her nephew Raymond Chavez. She is survived by her niece Jessica Chavez & family of Albuquerque, along with many cousins, friends & extended family members throughout the area and beyond.

There is one less link in our chain now. The memories we shared together & those that were passed down shall remain vivid in her absence!
