Maria "Jennie" Jiron

Maria “Jennie” J. Jiron, 78, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away to be with the Lord on March 18, 2023. 

Born to Carmelita Padilla and Hilario Padilla on October 20, 1944 in Santa Fe, NM.

Jennie experienced a life full of love and family.  Jennie is preceded in her death by her husband, Jose “Joe” Jiron; parents, Hilario and Carmelita; Stepdad, Amadeo; Brother, Larry Padilla; Sisters, Ramona Vigil, Rosina Padilla, Merlinda Romero and many more loved ones.

She leaves behind her loving son, Joseph; daughter, Wanda; grandchildren, Joseph (Bobbie), Jacob (Karyn), Brandon (Nathania), Sister; Alice Velarde (Alex), Brother-in-Law; Ruben Romero  and many more loved family members.

She was a cook with Santa Fe Public Schools as well as the driver/cook for the Meal Mobile in Santa Fe, NM.  Jennie enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends and family.  Jennie always was willing to lend a helping hand.  She spent many years babysitting her grandchildren, nephew and niece.

A viewing and rosary will be held at Berardinelli Funeral Services on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5-7 pm.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 10 am with interment to follow at the SF National Cemetery at 12:30. Lunch reception will be at McGee hall after the burial.
