Marilyn A. Valverde passed away Friday after a long illness. She was born in Long Beach and has called Benicia her home for the past 12 years. She was a bookkeeper, homemaker, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and dear friend.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, sewing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and camping with her late husband, Elvin. She also loved her pets, especially her yellow lab, Ashley.
She was known for her sweet nature. She was deeply aware of her blessings, and often cried with tears of joy at Thanksgiving dinners during prayers. She could make friends deserving of a goodbye hug on a plane flight.
Marilyn is survived by her children Elvin (Jennifer) Valverde, David (Renee) Valverde and Lisa (Steve) Valverde-Wymer; her brother Russell (Patricia) Williams; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She enriched the life of everyone she was around.
A Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00am at the Berardinelli-McGee Event Center, 1320 Luisa Street, Santa Fe NM followed by burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 12:30pm.
