Military Career:
Parkhurst served in the Unites States Army Air Core from 3/27/1943 to 11/13/1945, whereby he earned the Honored Veteran Medal for serving in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge in which he served as a sharpshooter and took out a German sniper who was picking off American Soldiers as they came ashore, then as a gunman in American airplanes in which he shot down several German aircraft in battle.
