Patsy Pinson Hutchison

October 10, 1932 ~ May 15, 2018 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

Patsy Hutchison was a remarkable woman who lived a long and truly blessed life about which she was always greatly appreciative.  She married her Highland Park High School sweetheart, William Leete Hutchison, on November 23, 1953 in Dallas and remained his best friend and companion for 65 years.  They graduated from SMU together and remained supporters of SMU, especially the Fort Burgwin campus in Taos, NM, where they were the founding force behind the development of the campus chapel.  In 2002, at 70 years of age, they embarked on their “last great adventure” together as they relocated from their lifelong home in Dallas to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  They enjoyed 16 wonderful years together in Santa Fe and at their ranch in Rociada, NM, made many great friends, and became active members of the local community.  Along with her founding of “Patsy’s, A Bridal Boutique”, Patsy was especially active in charity work in Dallas and in Santa Fe and she greatly loved her friends at Kitchen Angels and The Santa Fe Garden Club.

Patsy was a throwback to a time when people refrained from criticizing others.  She had an amazingly upbeat and optimistic personality and she never met a person who was not her friend.

Patsy was predeceased by her mother, Flo Pinson, and her father, Bill Pinson, and granddaughter Kimberly Courtwright.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William L. Hutchison, and their family:  Daughters Gail and husband Bruce Smith, and Bruce’s sons Chad and Todd, and Katie and husband Scott Gordon; sons Bill Hutchison and wife Suzanne and Chuck Hutchison and wife Sondra. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: John, Joe, Charlie, Sarah, Emily, Elizabeth, William, Christine, Catherine, Chas, and Carley along with nine great-grandchildren; and nephew Gilbert E. Peterson, III and wife Carol.  While we will all miss her greatly, as a steadfast Christian, we are aware of the depth of her belief and we take great solace in knowing that she has attained her place in eternity.  Her’s was truly a life well-lived.

In Dallas, Patsy will have a private interment followed by a brief memorial in Wynne Chapel at Highland Park Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 18 at 11am.

A memorial service in Santa Fe will be held at the  Christ Church Santa Fe at 3pm on Wednesday, May 23.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Kitchen Angels of Santa Fe, Christ Church - Santa Fe, Highland Park Presbyterian Church, SMU, or the charity of your choosing.
