Rosario (Rosie) T. Marquez, 95 ½, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on May 9, 2018. She was born on October 7, 1922, in Tapia, NM, to Cesaria R. and Jose Tapia.
She is survived by her children: Louie (Marian), Raymond, Patricia (Bob) Henry, Mary McCloskey, Leandro, Charlotte (Gilbert) Martinez, Joe (Janet), Lorie Holler; daughter-in-law: Anita Marquez; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Carmen Marquez.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband: Conrado Marquez; son: Gilbert Juan; five sisters, three brothers, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. Rosie was an avid crafter. Her many crafts of ceramics, pillows, blankets, wood carved art, straw inlay, and bead work she gifted to many family members and friends. She is also remembered for her delicious food especially her chili, beans, and tortillas which she shared freely and often. Rosie loved to talk with people everywhere she went, and had many family and friends that she loved dearly.
A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 417 Agua Fria St. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. at 11:15 a.m.
The family would like to thank all of Rosie’s nieces, nephews, friends, and family members for their continued visits and for the loving attention they lavished on her; the AmberCare Hospice health aide Elizabeth, Nurse Lynn, Chaplin Hollis, and the Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church clergy for their compassionate care. Very Special Thanks to Father Dennis Garcia at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
