Theresa Garcia

Theresa M. Garcia, a long time resident of Pecos, NM passed away peacefully in the early morning Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in her home. She was born July 10, 1942 in Mogote, Colorado and then moved to Denver, Colorado where she continued her education, she then moved to Santa Fe, NM where she met her husband Orlando of 59 years, and then moved to their forever home in Pecos, NM where they built their home for their family. After 25 years, Theresa retired from St. Vincent Hospital, and then continued with her many hobbies, including, sewing, making beautiful quilts, casino time, gardening, cooking, and being with her family. She enjoyed traveling; including her years participating in missionary work throughout the country as well as internationally. Theresa was a devoted member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe, where she enjoyed time organizing fundraisers, known as her “Spanish Suppers”.  She also enjoyed the company and friendship of her two best friends, Mary Lou and Patricia.

She was preceded in death by father, Benjamin Salazar, Mother, Mary Salazar and Brother Leroy Salazar. She is survived by loving husband Orlando Garcia, Son Brian Garcia, Son Gerald Garcia, (wife Tanya), Son Harold Garcia. Five Grand children David, Gabriella “Gigi” (Leanna), Ysabel, Benito (Brianna), Antonio and Great Grand Child Sofia Grace.
